Independently we visited Nepal and both fell in love with its people and natural beauty. Seeing the devastating consequences the earthquake caused to this already poor country, it called for support. From that grew our friendship and together we decided to stay involved. This is our story…
New pals for Nepal resulting in NewPal
Our initiative sources original products made with natural materials straight from Nepal. This way NewPal creates awareness for nature and empowers the people who need it most. We offer exclusive, handmade products with a lot of karma.
Our products are selected and developed together with local partners. They commit to the same mission. We demand fair and sustainable conditions for all activities in our value chain.
We welcome you here, joining NewPal to support the great beauty of Nepal. So order what you like to wear or love to give.
You can join NewPal by wearing our products, celebrating nature, sharing your feedback with us and our story with your network!
Gijs & Olivier
Olivier travelled to Nepal in November 2016 for a project in the south Nepalese jungle. There his crew installed solar panels for the local rangers of the Chitwan National Park and contributed to a local women empowerment project.
Gijs has been to Nepal with his father in 2004 and 2005 and decided to go back there to teach English and human rights. The last time he visited Nepal was right before the earthquake of April 2015. Being back home in Amsterdam, seeing the damaged towns and affected inhabitants, feeling powerless, he wanted to do his part.
